meditation a stress-relieving fix
When you are in a stressful situation, your fight-or-flight response system turns on. This is associated with feelings such as anxiety, fatigue, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Left unchecked, this system may be detrimental to your health. Practicing meditation reverses these effects and reduces your stress-related symptoms.

Manage Stress
Stress can be a good thing and push you to meet goals, but too much stress is detrimental. High levels of stress may lead to anxiety, sleeping problems, muscle aches, and a weakened immune system. Research has shown that meditation can improve these problems, as well as alleviate stress-related conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, and fibromyalgia. (Creswell et al, 2020). Meditation increases your resilience to better cope with the world around you. We can’t always control what is happening around us, but we can control how we respond to it.
Get More Done
Mindfulness meditation teaches you how to be present in the moment. In many situations, we struggle to focus on the here and now and get distracted by things that have already happened and trying to make plans for the future. Multiple research studies have shown that practicing mindfulness meditation enhances your attention throughout the day and helps you get more tasks done. (Norris et al, 2018). It may also improve your sleep quality, making you feel more refreshed and motivated to accomplish your goals.

meditation tips
Start small then build up for maximum benefits.
We recommend starting with 5-10 minutes per day, at least 3-7 times per week. Once you become more familiar with your sessions, try adding 5 extra minutes.
The more consistent you are, the better!
There is no “perfect” way of meditating.
When you are just starting out, you may have expectations on how your meditation session should go. Don’t add more stress by trying to reach these expectations, as there is no “perfect” way of doing it. All that matters is that you feel more relaxed as you discover the world inside and outside of you body.
Practice meditation without making any judgments.
Individuals with years of practice still lose focus when meditating. When you become distracted, it’s important to acknowledge the thought and let go of it without being hard on yourself. The more practice you have, the easier it will get.
