Chronic pain affects more American adults than cancer, heart disease, and diabetes combined. We need your help to discover more about to causes of chronic pain to develop better treatment approaches. Our current hypothesis is that changes in your central nervous system (your brain and spinal cord) are responsible for chronic pain. Some studies have shown that it may be possible to reduce these brain changes through various treatments.
Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires and sensitivity testing involving pressure and heat to the skin during brief research sessions at our lab located in the ground floor of Shands hospital. These tests give us important information about nervous system functioning related to pain. Monetary compensation is provided for participation. If you have any questions or are interested in participating in our research studies, please fill out the contact box below with your information and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
